This screenshot shows how the illustration was shown in high resolution with ability to scroll around it using both a navigation window in the corner, or by hovering the mouse over edges of the viewport. Additionally, the image was set to slowly scroll on its own if there was no interaction from the visitor.

Also, note how the background character on the right is the same as the one in the previous screenshot. This illustrates how sections of the website had their own characters to represent them. So in the case of any pages in the Illustration section, this is the character that you would see.
For the character pages, and any primary pages where the characters would change, the previous character would be erased off the screen, and then the new character would be sketched on.
A range of services were performed for Michael Chang, including web architecture and sitemap development, site design and coding, animation and motion graphics using illustrations provided by Michael Chang, and sound design. Additionally, consultation on items like domain registration and web hosting was given.
As the primary audience for Michael Chang's site are visitors looking at his illustrations and artworks, he wanted to have a site that not only showed off those works, but was artistic in its own right. For this reason, he desired to have a site built using Flash and Actionscript which would provide a more dynamic multimedia experience for his visitors than would be practical to do with other site building methodologies.
To see some example pages from the site created for Michael Chang, please see above…
(As a note, after completing the initial site build, the site was handed off and is now maintained by other individuals, so the current site will not necessarily be reflective of what was originally created.)
Michael Chang is an accomplished illustrator, concept artist, comic creater and art director who currently resides in Hong Kong. He has done works used in video games, such as Ninja Blade, art publications, and comics, such as Ninja Scroll. He currently is an art director and partner in Movanova Ltd. based in Hong Kong.
This site was created using a form of HTML5, some CSS with bits of CSS3 thrown in, and JavaScript with some help from JQuery.
